YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament Travel Reimbursement Policy 2017

To assist with the participation of remote and regional participants in the YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament Program, partial travel reimbursements are made available to youth members who are travelling from regional Queensland to Brisbane for the Forum and Residential components of the program. Reimbursement will only be made once Youth Members have tried to generate sponsorship to cover their travel cost, but have been unsuccessful.

How do I apply for reimbursement?

You should apply in writing (email is acceptable) to the coordinator, Charlotte Mann with documentation attached (flight itineraries, receipts etc). Applications will be assessed on a number or criteria, including remoteness, distance of travel, effort to seek sponsorship as well as personal circumstances. Reimbursements may be increased at the discretion of the coordinator.

The State Council of the YMCAs of Queensland Inc. is dedicated to providing opportunities for all people to grow in body, mind and spirit, with a strong emphasis upon improving the lives of youth in necessitous circumstances. To ensure that the achievement of this goal is not diminished, the YMCA will attempt to ensure that no person is turned away from our programs due to an inability (not unwillingness) to pay. If you are experiencing financial hardship please contact the Youth Parliament Coordinator, Charlotte Mann, to discuss your situation is strict confidence.
